Denis Bachelet was born in Belgium and would visit his grandparents in Gevrey during school holidays. His grandparents were thrilled when he relocated to Burgundy to make wine with them, producing his first vintage in 1983. Today, he makes wine alongside his son Nicholas on 4.3 hectares with the use of organic and biodynamic principles.
Two lieux-dits (Pressonier and Grand Champs) planted in 1977 and 1986 on limestone and clay soils. Grapes are 100% de-stemmed before ambient yeast fermentation. The wine is aged 16-18 months in used barrels before bottling. These wines are powerful, and concentrated, but completely in balance.
