Pergamos is mostly Merlot with a bit of Sangiovese, all from the Dick Vanderkous Solitude Vineyard in Martinez, a steep hillside vineyard overlooking the Carquinez Straights. The wine is a deep purple color and packs mighty fruit, with good grip and a healthy amount of acidity. It's full and lush without feeling heavy, a great wine to serve with red meats particularly in the summer.
