Carette, Robin 2024 Redrum (Limit 2 per Customer)

This is an electric Pineau d'Aunis consisting of two-thirds estate fruit (younger vines planted in 2022) and one third purchased fruit from 50 year old vines in Martigné-Briand. The grapes are destemmed and see seven days maceration. It's light and juicy with bright cherry fruit and characteristic white pepper, a classic style of Pineau d'Aunis without too much extraction. Just a kiss of tannins and racy acidity make it a perfect accompaniment to tapas or cheese and charcuterie, but it is endlessly drinkable on its own. It's a perfect spring/summer red, sadly limited in quantity for now as we eagerly wait for the 2025 to arrive.
