Pierre André 2021 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge
The very fine and elegant 2021 Pierre Andre Chateauneuf-du-Pape shows a deep red garnet color, with subtle aromas of plum, rosehip, violet, red currant and tart cherry with citrus and earth. Black cherry, cassis, garrigue, minerals and firm acidity on the palate with pretty red fruits emerging with air, finishing with minerals and bright acidity. There is power here at 14.5 % alc, but in a stylish Burgundian frame. On day two the elegance is further revealed with a beautiful chalky texture, fabulous length of sappy red fruits and minerals, all in finesse as is usually the case with the wines of Jacqueline André. Highly recommended. -David Lillie (After the tragic death of Jacqueline André, the future of the domaine was in doubt. We're happy to report that new owner Alexandre Moga will retain the name, and the great biodynamic farming and winemaking of the André family, along with new winemaker Elisa Guérin and long-time oenologist Gérald Lafont. We look forward to many more great vintages from this superb estate)
