Chateau de Verreux 2023 Chardonnay (Arrives 10/28)

This is all Chardonnay from several parcels planted between 1973--1998 on silty clay topsoil over grey marl. It is fermented in whole bunches in 225L and 400L barrels, spending ten months on lees with no battonage. The nose is savory and complex, showing off the Jura terroir while maintaining composure and precision. The palate is textured and broad with a mineral finish. It's an outstanding Chardonnay that is open for business but should continue to evolve over the next several years.
