Jousset 2023 Menu Pineau Vin de France

The Lise and Betrand Jousset 2023 Menu Pineau (aka Orbois) is a balanced and beautiful expression of this unusual grape, complete with enigmatic label by Michel Tolmer. A probable native of the Loire, similar to Meslier according to some, and sharing some characteristics with Savagnin, the grape has generally low acidity but quite distinctive sharp aromas and flavors of bitter citrus, dried herbs, exotic fruits and white flowers. The palate is fresh and clean in 2023, with firm acidity and mineral flavors under notes of white fruits. Perfect for a variety of ceviches, sushi, grilled fish, farm chicken. Delightful wine! No SO2 added in 2023.
