Rijckaert 2023 Cotes du Jura Savagnin

In past vintages this used to be singularly from the vineyard “les Sarres” but in 2023 was blended with a few other sites in 2023. This wine showcases the beauty and purity of Savagnin when made in a non-oxidative style: fresh, lightly floral, with minerality. Looking back at my tasting notes from last week at the end I just wrote “fantastic” clearly feeling quite excited in the moment. As opposed to other white wines from Rijckaert, this wine sees only 1 year of barrel aging in older barrels. This wine would be an excellent choice for pairing alongside seafood and spring vegetables or on its own.
