Lafouge, Jean et Gilles 2023 Pommard Les Noizons

"Les Noizons" is a steep, stony slope just above the 1er Cru "Pezerolles" facing southeast, the name referring to the walnut trees that were there before the vines. "The 2023 Pommard “les Noizons” from Domaine Lafouge is excellent this year, 
showing a red fruity character in its nose of red plums, red and black cherries, gamebird, dark chocolate, a fine base of soil, woodsmoke and cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and sappy in the mid-palate, with fine soil signature, really very elegant tannins for a young Pommard and excellent length and grip on the poised and beautifully balanced finish.
