Rocher des Violettes 2022 Vin de France Chenin

The 2022 Rocher des Violette Chenin is from a small parcel of 80 year-old vines in "Les Borderies" on windblown sand over limestone, formerly in the Montlouis AOC, declassified as Touraine or Vin de France. "The 2022 is very expressive, the nose bright with layer upon layer of peach, apricot, pear, perfumed apple and crushed chalk. Deliciously textured on the palate, chalky with a sweet texture, with all the peach and apricot fruit coming through from the nose, nuanced with chalk as well as floral notes of jasmine and honeysuckle. Fabulous substance here, showing grain, balance and length." (Wine Doctor) The alcohol is 13.5%, enjoy over the next five to eight years. The old-vine Chenin was vinified and bottled with minimal SO2 added which contributes to its purity and complexity.
