Bodega Hermanos Mesa 2022 Locartas Blanco Tenerife Valle de Guimar

Named after the family's first parcel, Locartas is a blend of 8-12 different parcels all located in the Valle de Guimar. Exposures, vine-age, training-methods as well as altitudes vary quite a bit from parcel to parcel; altitudes, for instance, range from 300 to 1,000 meters above sea level. Planted almost exclusively to Listan Blanco (2-3% Albillo Criollo), the vines here are all own-rooted and planted to sandy volcanic soils. After fermentation with indigenous yeasts, the wine is aged for six months (90% in stainless steel, 10% neutral French oak). The nose is fresh with aromas of river-rock, white flowers and apricot. The palate is dense, mineral and salty with lovely notes of just-ripe canteloupe fruit and lemon-zest.
