Micalet 2023 Haut Medoc Petit Verdot

Organic since 2006, Chateau Micalet now has 10 hectares on deep beds of gravel in the Haut-Medoc planted at 8,000 pieds/hectare; the normal blend is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot -  and 7% Petit Verdot, a grape the estate feels is particularly important. In the 2023 vintage, Micalet produced a new cuvée from 100% Petit Verdot! The wines shows a beautiful bright color and aromas of blackberry, boysenberry and stone. The palate is dense with sapid black fruits but remains fresh and light on its feet with only 11.5% alcohol and good acidity - just delicious! Enjoy it served cool with just about anything - a Bordeaux for BBQ!
