Arnot-Roberts 2023 Pinot Noir Heaven & Earth Vineyard
This comes from a vineyard in western Sonoma County planted in 2004 on a hillside with loam and decomposed schist soils. It sits just eight miles from the Pacific and is protected by a forested ridge, allowing the grapes to benefit from coastal influence without being exposed to harsh conditions. This is the most structured of the Pinots, with deeper notes of spice and balsamic with some brambly red and black fruit that soar from the glass. There is plenty of material density here with juicy acidity and fine tannins that make for a lovely food wine, and this has a long future ahead of it - drink now with some air or cellar 5-10 years and your patience will certainly be rewarded.
