Boudignon 2023 A Francois(e) Anjou Blanc

A tribute to his mother, A François(e) comes from a historic plot of St-Lambert-du-Lattay previously dedicated to liquoreux (sweet) wines. A selection of the heart of the plot and the best barrels - the rest is blended in the regular Anjou cuvée - the vines planted in 1990 grow on powerful grey schist and rhyolite with no topsoil. It is usually one of the more powerful wines of the domaine. Our good friend Pascaline Lepeltier recommends aging or if drinking now, "decant for a good hour, and serve it in large Burgundy glass. Meaty shellfish - scallop, lobster - or sweetbreads will be a great pairing, as well as young comté."
