Exeterra 2023 Alsace Riesling Loup Blanc

Loup Blanc is 100% Riesling from 73 year-old vines with northern exposure on granite soils. While just 300 meters from the Grand Cru Muenchberg, this site has a very different soil type and microclimate, surrounded by forest where it stays cool while the granite soils retain heat and keep the temperatures in check. The wine ages in stainless steel on the lees for 11 months. This is a pristine and airy style Riesling with delicate citrus fruit, a touch of honeysuckle on the nose and beautiful balance of acid and texture on the palate. On the second day there are some added layers of savory herbs that add complexity. It's a delicious wine that can pair well with soft cheeses, creamy pasta dishes or seafood, great now but will continue to age nicely over the next five years.
