Vigneti Massa 2022 Colli Tortonesi Timorasso Derthona Montecitorio

Walter says the vinification is the same as the Timorasso Derthona and "the only difference is the sun and the soil". Montecitorio is a single vineyard which is cooler, northeast-facing and produces wines that are leaner, more mineral, and more taut.

The resulting wine is more subtle, less of that petrol note popping out, and more pear, white flowers, silkiness, and length. Absolutely stunning and singular wine. The structure and acidity make this a natural food pairing- try it with roast chicken and fennel, a meatier white fish like halibut, or any saffron forward dish.
