A relatively new cuvée from Clos Fantine, Impro is a blend of 50% destemmed Syrah with Cinsault, Aramon, and white grapes Picpoul and Terret. There's dark, silky fruit here and nice structure and fullness, but it's also remarkably elegant and smooth, with some freshness from the white grapes. A welcome addition to the Clos Fantine lineup, notably a bit less "funky" than their classic red, the 'Tradition.' -EL
