Cabeças do Reguengo 2023 Respiro Lagar Branco

A field blend of indigenous white varieties from two small centenarian vineyards at around 500-600 meters of elevation. The grapes were foot trodden in lagar and allowed to ferment on the skins. The wine was then aged for 9 months in a combination of concrete and 225L used french oak.

Mint, tangerine, and florals jump out of the glass. The palate is juicy with notes of citrus, apple skins, and a clean minerality. Unlike a lot of contemporary skin-contact wines, I find the acidity here very well integrated. What a value.
