Boillot, Louis 2017 Volnay Les Grands Poisots

From 70-year-old vines in Les Grand Poisots, a vineyard bordering Pommard. Manual harvest and destemmed before a cold soak of several days. Pump-overs and punch-downs during maceration. After about three weeks, the wine is moved to barrels where malolactic fermentation occurs. Aged 12 months in barrels and up to 30% new oak. This wine is incredibly elegant with lift and spice, it is inviting and smooth. The nose has tart cranberry and pomegranate with a little bit of florals. This wine is some of the best value you can find in Volnay, with fantastic bottle age already! Drinking beautifully now and can continue to age.
