Michel Autran's brilliant "Ciel Rouge" is from average 80 year-old vines in red clay over limestone, a superb Vouvray terroir. Showing a bit more weight than the "Enfers Tranquilles" the wine is nevertheless equally crystalline and intensely mineral. Vines for are from "La Roche de Cestre," "Les Granges" and "La Folie" on classic Vouvray clay/limestone terroir. Vibrantly delicious albeit powerful now, this will develop nicely over the next fifteen-plus years.
