This is an Ardèche style blend of equal parts Gamay and Syrah, made with 100% whole clusters and no sulfur added at any point. The Gamay comes from Shokrian Vineyard near Los Alamos and the Syrah from Coquelicot Vineyard, one of the cooler vineyards situated in Santa Ynez Valley. The Gamay and Syrah complement each other nicely, with some dark fruit and depth but ultimately a light and easygoing, cheerful wine. It's herbaceous and juicy and has tons of energy, without being shrill or sharp in any way. There's density but also lift, delicious served chilled alongside lighter dishes or on its own with friends.
