Rosés of Spring: New Arrivals and Close-Outs at Pre-Tariff Prices!
4/19/2025
It's finally Rosé season, with temps in NY hitting the 80s today, and we're happy to offer our first 2024s from three of our favorite producers in the south of France. From Provence, the La Bernarde Côtes de Provence "Les Hauts de Luc" and the Sulauze Coteaux D'Aix-en-Provence "Pomponette" offer lively refreshment with the subtle fruit and mineral notes we love, while the Mourgues du Grès "Les Galets" from the Costières de Nimes offers a slightly richer and fuller-bodied style - try it with tuna or grilled meats this spring and summer. (Pictured above: the high-altitude vineyards of La Bernarde)
All the wines in today's offer, by the way, are made with grapes from organic or Biodynamic farming and fermented with wild yeasts, giving wines that are naturally delicious - real rosès of terroir!
Speaking of prices, now that the tariff has settled down to 10% - we hope - price increases in May and June will not be dramatic, so don't panic! However, we have some amazing values in today's email - 2022s and 2023s from superb organic estates that will drink beautifully through 2025 and beyond. There are some great new arrivals and further price reductions on current inventory, so don't delay in stocking up for the season at these unbeatable prices! (Approximately 12 to 48 bottles available of each wine)
A few personal favorites:
Stéphane Guion's 2022 Bourgueil Rosé - for those of you who love Cabernet Franc, this is a bright and beautiful wine from classic limestone/clay terroir (organic since 1965) that has finally reached maturity. Vibrant and delicious! (Was $15.99, now $13.99)
La Bastide Blanche 2023 Bandol Rosé - we're not sure why the importer lowers the price, while the wine is getting better and better? A great Bandol at a great price! $23.99
Terre des Chardons 2023 Costières de Nimes Rosé - Biodynamic since 2002, this over-achieving estate makes an elegant, silky rosé with subtle, gorgeous fruit. (Was $16.99, now $14.99)
Domaine du Fossile 2023 Chinon Rosé - (Formerly Domaine Patrick Lambert) The new owners made a delicious, light-bodied Chinon rosé in 2023, already a crazy value at $13.99, now $11.99.
