Rhône Valley: Best Values, New Arrivals & Cellar Selections 2007 - 2024!

11/8/25 -

Today's offer includes something for everyone from the Rhône Valley, North and South! (No need to buy a case for the discount - all wines are at discounted net prices)

We lead off with our best values, featuring the always delicious 2024 Ferme Saint-Martin "Les Romanins," a superb Côtes-du-Rhône that's really singing in 2024! Notes of crushed raspberries and currants on the nose, with fresh and balanced red fruits on the palate...

Next up are some serious CDRs (really junior Châteauneuf-du-Papes) from Laurent Charvin and Domaine Ferrand: the 2022 Charvin "Le Poutet" and the 2023 Ferrand  "Cuvee Antique Vieilles Vignes" are profound reds to drink over the next 10 years, and we love the 2023 Charvin CDR Blanc - always fresh, mineral and delightful, mostly Bourboulenc and Clairette. All three are great wines and sensational values!

Gigondas! Along with the forever-organic wines of the Clos du Joncuas, we have always enjoyed the elegant Gigondas from the Domaine La Bouïssière and Domaine Gour de Chaulé. Both of these estates are now creating superb wines in a lighter, more elegant stye - La Bouissiere from high altitude limestone soils among the Dentelles de Montmirail, and Gour de Chaulé from mostly sandy soils, with light extraction and aging in concrete eggs. Stephanie Fumoso at Gour de Chaulé brought this estate to new heights and her son Paul is creating extraordinary lighter-bodied wines of terroir - both the 2023 "Le Numero Huit" and the 2023 "Le Gour" are all in finesse and silky elegance. (Note:  the 2023 "Le Numero Huit" and the 2023 "Le Gour" arrive in late November)

(We have declared the 2022 Bastide Blanche Bandol "Cuvée Estagnol" to be a Rhone-for-a-Day, as it's a delicious blend of 94% Mourvedre and 6% Carignan)

Southern Rhône Cellar Selections begin with the wonderful 2007 Clos des Papes Blanc - enjoy it over the next 5 to 8 years, and continue through the outstanding 2019 Raymond Usseglio "Cuvée Impériale." Please note that the 2014 Clos des Papes is a wonderful glass of CDP pleasure that would be a delight at any gathering this fall and winter...

Northern Rhône Suggestions...
Thierry Allemand is a big fan of the 2021 vintage in the North, as are we, especially the superb value Côte-Rôties from Domaine Bonnefond - enjoy them now in their youthful freshness or cellar for 20 years.
2021 is also an excellent vintage for the superb Saint-Perays of Domaine Gripa, exhibiting wonderful mineral flavors with great complexity and elegance on the palate, for current drinking or cellaring.
And don't miss the 2016, 2017 and 2018 Rousset Crozes-Hermitage "les Picaudières" - not fully mature perhaps, but drinking beautifully, one of the greatest values in the Northern Rhône!
