Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts founded Arnot-Roberts in 2001 with the goal of making site-specific wines of character with a nod to the old-world while still firmly rooted in California, and since then they have gone from "rising star" status to being considered alongside some of the great wines of this country. Growing up childhood friends in Napa, Duncan and Nathan have been entrenched in California winemaking culture from an early age and have developed close relationships with farmers and vineyard managers at a number of historic vineyards across the state, from Napa Valley, Sonoma Coast, Santa Cruz Mountains, Santa Rita Hills, Clearlake and Sierra Foothills. They've been able to use these relationships to source top fruit from iconic vineyards like Peter Martin Ray Vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains, incredible old vine sites like Bedrock and Kirschenmann Vineyards, and they have even made a name for some vineyards through their own wines, such as Trout Gulch (Chardonnay), Clary Ranch (Syrah) and Luchsinger (Trousseau).

Today we are fortunate to be able to offer a small collection of some of their single-vineyard wines, each of which has a distinct personality emblematic of the place from which they come while possessing a common throughline that makes them uniquely connected. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what that throughline is that Duncan and Nathan have been able to achieve, but every one of their wines feels like the perfect cross between old world and new world, with moderate alcohol levels, very little if any new wood and a clear expression of terroir. They manage to walk that line seamlessly while remaining true to their roots in California. If you want to dive deeper into the history of the vineyards and land they have a detailed collection of maps and info on their website, and if you desire that first-hand experience I highly recommend trying one of each of their Pinot Noirs on offer - the Fox Creek Pinot for its vibrancy and energy, the Heaven & Earth Pinot for its depth and complexity, and of course the Peter Martin Ray Pinot for its profound texture and harmony. Additionally the Clary Ranch Syrah is not to be missed - one of the best sites for Syrah in California and perennially one of our favorite wines. Lastly alongside some of these limited and special single vineyard wines we are thrilled to welcome back their delicious 2023 Trousseau, which is back in full supply and absolutely ripping. If you missed out last time be sure to grab a few bottles or more to hold you over for the spring and summer! -Jeff DiLorenzo
