Neue Moselle: New Releases from Lardot and Introducing their Friends Singley & Lyslo

7/29/26 -

I am really excited today to be highlighting wines from two incredibly special couples and their eponymous labels: Philip and Rosa Lardot, and Chad Singley and Megan Lyslo. Both couples are working to save the Mosel and are making delicious, singular wines along the way.

Philip Lardot first went to the Mosel in 2013 for a harvest with Clemens Busch and by 2016 decided to move to the region to make wine. He spent years working alongside Ulli Stein while also making his own, quite different wines on the side. Philip's "new" style of winemaking is truthfully much more aligned with an older style of wines from the Mosel.
Choosing not to block malolactic fermentation, preferring for softer acidity in the wines, and aging for longer periods of time on the fine lees in used barrels, providing wines of incredible complexity, concentration, and structure. In the past year, Philip and Rosa got married and are continuing to reclaim vineyards in the Mosel that others have threatened to rip up. I recently tasted through the lineup of new arrivals from the two and was blown away at the elegant reds, and mineral driven, structured whites. These are intentional wines with so much soul and energy. I am excited to share today their Kontakt white and red, two single vineyard Rieslings, two Pinot Noirs, and a delicious skin contact Pinot Gris.

Megan Lyslo and Chad Singley have both lived quite different lives before finding their way to the Mosel. Megan got a undergrad degree in biochemistry before studying winemaking at U.C. Davis. After school, she spent time working harvests in both California and Australia, before becoming the Assistant winemaker at Bow & Arrow in Oregon. Chad was working in the restaurant industry in Portland when he came across Philip Lardot's wine and had such a special experience with them that he asked to help with harvest the following year. Little did he know, his friend Rosa (Lardot) was moving to the Mosel to work with Philip that same year. After spending a day in the Mosel, Chad called his friend Megan, and told her that she should come to Germany. She later followed his advice and by 2024 both Megan and Chad moved to the Mosel and were working with Philip, Rosa, and Ulli Stein. The two made a very tiny quantity of wine in 2023 and in 2024 made enough that they are now imported to the United States! I recently tasted the Singley & Lyslo Kleine Pause Riesling and it was simply delicious. I found it to live quite beautifully somewhere in between the Lardot and Stein wines. With longer lees aging in barrel and the textural quality of Lardot, yet with the more lifted, citrus quality of Stein. They are unique but approachable for Riesling lovers alike.

This corner of the Mosel with Stein, Lardot, and Singley & Lyslo has a really special community where there is a lot of sharing of information and education for how to best farm these incredibly special, but challenging vineyards. These winemakers are truly saving the Mosel, working old vines, rebuilding walls on very old terraces, on areas where many other growers are giving up. The work that Rosa, Philip, Chad, and Megan are doing is meaningful and without it we could be losing some of the most special vineyards in the Mosel.

To welcome this new release, we have special pricing on every single wine from today through Friday, this is applied automatically at checkout and cannot be combined with any additional discounts. We really believe in the power of these wines and want you all to enjoy them too.
