First 2025s from Ulli Stein are coming!
7/5/26 -

I am excited to share today that the first 2025s from Ulli Stein are arriving in just over a week. All the 2025s I have tasted so far have been fantastic! Bursting with stunning aromatics right off the bat with great structure and refreshing acidity. Today we have Ulli Stein's duo of Riesling Blauschiefer Trocken and Weihwasser Feinherb. The Blauschiefer comes from ungrafted 60-year-old vines in Sankt-Aldegund on steep slopes. The word Blauschiefer translates to 'Blue Slate', a nod to the soils here. The wine has incredible minerality with beautiful acidity, it is a tiny bit spicy with ripe fruit and a lot of elegance. Weihwasser Feinherb is from vines in the St. Aldegunder Klosterkammer vineyard. Weihwasser translates to 'holy water' which is a fair name for this perfectly barely off-dry Riesling. It has a citrusy freshness with ripe orchard fruit and a salty minerality to finish. Both of these wines are lower in alcohol and are very easy drinking. With many more hot, summer days ahead, stock up on some of the most refreshing wines around!
