Envínate 2019: Wines of Tenerife and Ribeira Sacra

The wines from Envínate don't need much introduction. Roberto Santana, Alfonso Torrente, Laura Ramos, and José Martínez are making some of the most sought after and exciting wines in Spain, from organically farmed vineyards in Galicia, Castilla-La Mancha, and the Canary Islands.

Today's offer is for wines, mainly from single vineyards, from Tenerife and Ribeira Sacra. Quantities are very limited, but we are happy to offer a bit more than we have been able to in the past. Per the winemakers, this was a very successful vintage. As in the past few years, it was quite dry in Tenerife, but less so in Orotava, and the conditions were ideal for Listan Blanco. 2019 was a nearly perfect vintage in Ribeira Sacra, with even ripening throughout the spring and summer, and a dry, mild end of summer and early fall, allowing for a slow, gradual maturation on the vines. Compared to prior vintages, I found all of the wines relatively more approachable for early drinking, but definitely destined for improvement in the cellar.

If you're interested in more detailed information about Envínate, please take a look at our prior offer, where I went into more detail about their Tenerife project.
