The Tormenta comes from a cooler, high-elevation site consisting of 0.8 hectares of the small-berry Godello biotype. The combination of the cooler microclimate along with clay and limestone soils results in a wine with great natural acidity and concentration. The wine is matured in 800 liter amphora as well as barrels of varying sizes. There is a subtle oxidative nuttiness which complements and frames the core of pristine fruit. 2023 is a special vintage in Bierzo; look no further for examples.
