Strekov 1075 2023 Charlotte Pet Nat (Arrives 7/21)

Chardonnay grown on clay-loam topsoil on calcareous loess rock, organic farming with zero synthetic substances, herbs grow between rows of the vineyard. Hand harvested in 2023 and disgorged in 2024, the grapes are pressed into stainless steel tanks and fermented spontaneously. The wines are unfined and unfiltered. The result is a vibrant opaque straw colored wine with an aroma that leaps from the glass, composed and structured with a little reduction but undeniably wild. Taking a sip reveals it's fresh acidity and a clear demonstration of the wines mineral character. I immediately think apertif, this wine demands cheese (or better yet bread dipped in pumpkin seed oil, the regions delicacy and what Zsolt made before wine). - KG
