Mortellito 2023 Cala Iancu Bianco

Cala Iancu is crafted from organically grown Grillo and Cataratto, classic Sicilian varieties. The vines sit in a distinctly desert climate with close proximity to the coast of the Ionian Sea. White limestone and karst soils impart a salinity and depth to this wine. The grapes are cofermented with native yeasts, have 1 night of skin contact, and minimal sulfur at bottling. Grapefruit, hay, popcorn, sea salt, white flowers, and a touch of honey with a medium body.  Winemaker, Dario, is most inspired by Chablis. Enjoy with burrata, spaghetti con le sarde, and caponata.
