Les Charmois is the western continuation of the Chassagne 1er Cru vineyard of Les Chaumées. Sylvain inherited just 1/3 of a hectare of vines planted in 1990. The wine is aged for 16 months in 20% new 350-liter barrels, and remains on the fine lees with no batonnage. This wine has the best of both worlds, the richness of Chassagne-Montrachet balanced with the energy and brightness of Saint-Aubin. Just 15 cases came to the U.S.
