Meinklang 2022 Weisser Mulatschak
The word mulatschak is Hungarian in origin (mulatság), meaning "merriment" or "amusement", and refers to the traditional evening drinks celebration where glasses are hurled against the wall. The alternative name means "fifteen down", the most popular Austrian card game. Hailing from the eastern side of Lake Nieusedlersee next to the Hungarian border, Mulatschak is a joyful, one week skin contact white blend of Welschriesling, Pinot Gris and Traminer aged in tank to keep freshness. The wine is unfined, unfiltered, and only 25 mg/L of SO2 is added before bottling. A nice balance of florals, apricot, and savory leesiness with just a whisper of texture. Biodynamic. GH
