Immich-Batterieberg 2021 Briedler Herzchen

2021 is the 3rd vintage of this wine, sourced from organically grown grapes in a vineyard site just on the other side of the Marienberg from Clemens Busch's holdings. A dry wine made from fruit picked from 40-year-old vines in this less well-known but almost full south-facing steep vineyard on a soil of iron-infused grey slate forming the prolongation of the Pündericher main hill. The Riesling was aged in steel tanks (the only single vineyard from the house's steel tank) and in oak barrels. It remains on the full yeast for 10 months. Shy at first, this wine has blossomed into an amazing and deliciously mineral wine. We were able to purchase whatever was left of this old school vintage so don't miss out!
