From the Contrada Puntalazzo on the Eastern slope of Mount Etna at 750 meters above sea level. Ages 18 months in stainless steel tanks and then another 12 months in bottle. The nose is so stony and rocky, immediately calling to the terroir of Mount Etna. Lime leaf also came to mind, a bit more broad and aromatic than lime juice. The palate is so expansive and open with hay and sweet corn and a slightly oxidative finish, which is characteristic of Carricante.
