Crivelli 2024 Ruche di Castagnole Monferrato

Ruche is a native grape to Monferrato which has maybe not been brought to your attention because of the scant hectares of it that exists. Marco Crivelli's family are stewards of this grape, growing it organically in sand and tufa soils for a hundred years and even captaining the association of Ruche growers. It carries a similar backbone to your other favorite Piedmont reds, maybe closest to Pelaverga, Brachetto or Freisa but with a more distinct perfumed bouquet. Cherries, perfume, with herbs and white pepper and a medium body, this is a really fun wine to sip.
