Clos du Jaugueyron 2021 Haut-Medoc

Clos du Jaugueyron's Haut-Medoc comes from 20+ year old vines planted to soils in the commune of Macau, directly south of Margaux. The blend for the 2021 is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and 11% Petit Verdot. All vines are farmed with organic and biodynamic practices. In the cellar, only native yeasts are used for fermentation. A very dark cherry in the glass, with big luscious blackcurrant and blackberry aromas and a touch of spice. The palate is bright, with fresh acidity and very elegant tannins and the finish has sparks of minerality with mint and herb notes. Fermentation is in concrete and aging is in old barrels, with no new oak used for this cuvée. A stand-out Bordeaux!
