BXT 2022 Manley Vineyard Blanc de Blancs

This is 100% Chardonnay farmed organically by Tom since 2020, from vines on rocky loam soils in Carneros. The Chardonnay vines are Burgundy clones planted on 110R. Grapes are hand-picked, basket-pressed as whole clusters with malo inhibited through 5 ppm doses of SO2. It sees 36 months en tirage before disgorgement. The vineyard is now planted to Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc in addition to Chardonnay, with the possible additions of Petit Meslier and/or Arbanne in the future. It shows a beautiful combination of zippy acidity due to inhibited malolactic conversion with plenty of leesy richness from the 36 months aging; salty and chalky with great mouthfeel.
