Amorotti 2020 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

While Amorotti's first official vintage was 2016, they have been a winemaking family for over a century. They still sell grapes in bulk, but they save the best selections for their own label. The vines are certified organic and wine is spontaneously fermented. 

The flagship Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a meticulous selection of their best fruit and spends 1 year in large untoasted oak barrels. The wine is brooding, woodsy, spices like cinnamon, cardamon, and anise with flecks of blueberries and licorice popping through. The signature velvety Montepulciano texture really shines here.
