The Crozes Les Croix Vieilles Vignes red is highly recommended; it includes massale selection 1950s Syrah, is a serious wine, bright and splendid. "very dark robe. The nose evokes the south – black olives, paste of cassis, some thyme, dried herbs, plentiful licorice. There’s more to come, more variety and openness. The palate issues interesting cool blueberry fruit with blackcurrant included. The tannins are fine, serious, hold it together with a tight handshake.
