Roddolo, Flavio 2015 Nebbiolo d'Alba

A woodsy and rustic style Nebbiolo d'Alba with 10 years of age! Gritty tannins up front smooth out in the finish with that distinct forest floor note that has come to define Roddolo's stlye for me. Dark cherry, spice, rose, rosemary, and earth. Roddolo is a man of patience in his Bricco Appiani cellar outside of Monforte, farming there his whole life, never chemically treating the vines, fermenting spontaneously, not clarifying or filtering, and doing long aging. His wines are contemplative and calming and worth your time and attention.
