Legou, Vincent 2022 Bourgogne HCN Red 'Le Corton'

With many Burgundy super-stars buying vineyards in the Hautes-Cotes and making beautiful, but still rather expensive wines, it's a pleasure to offer the wines of Vincent Legou, a native of the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. Vincent worked at DRC for almost ten years before taking over the 11 hectare estate from his parents in 2008, farming organically from the beginning and receiving organic certification in 2014. Fermentations are with indigenous yeasts, minimal SO2 is used in vinification, aging is in older barrels for 12 to  14 months. The 2022 HCN "Le Corton" is from a tiny parcel, facing south-west. "The color is deep and intense, with aromas of black cherry and violet. The palate is concentrated, with silky tannins and a lovely length. This wine can be paired with capon stuffed with porcini mushrooms, stuffed Bresse chicken, a Burgundy delight, or a chocolate éclair." Not sure about the last two menu options, but the wine is delicious - enjoy over the next 3 to 5 years!
