Sourced from the Fornace vineyard located at 400 m in elevation in Castelnuovo dell’Abate in the southeast. The well draining soil here is made up of rounded stones mixed with finer soil and high limestone content. The wine is aged for 36 months in large Slavonian oak vats and has been aged in bottle at the estate for another 10 years! A classic vintage in Montalcino with a touch more power than the other wines, but still with great finesse at 13.5% abv.
