Gripa 2016 Saint-Peray "Les Figuiers"

Bernard and Fabrice Gripa make superb whites in Saint-Peray which deserve your attention! The "Les Figuiers" is made from 60% Roussanne and 40% Marsanne, from vines ranging from 50 to 70 years-old. We borrow the note on the 2016 form Drink Rhone "...shiny yellow robe. There is a real good ping of lift on the nose, which is fresh and dancing, with quince and guava present, very good purity and lightness of touch.  The palate is very beau, a fine wine of assured gras, a fine texture towards silk. It’s all very neat and serene, classy; the white fruits resemble pear and nectarine. It will show more over time, expand and lengthen. Drink until 2032-34"
