Chezeaux, Jerome 2022 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Chaumes

In the cellar, the grapes are fully de-stemmed, fermented with indigenous yeast, and then aged with modest levels of new oak. The resulting wine is incredibly perfumed with rose and spice alongside notes of cherry and cranberry. The wine has a mineral core with an amazing lift and freshness. After initially tasting the wine I left some in my glass and checked in on it throughout my day and it just kept getting better. Around 3 hours after the bottle was opened the mouthfeel was soft and luscious while showcasing bright concentrated fruit and amazing elegance. This is a wine that with a little bit of decanting can drink well now but will continue to drink well for many years to come!
