Guillemot-Michel NV Vin de France Le Feu et La Glace

(Arrives Tuesday 3/18) Our friends at Guillemot-Michel lost most of their 2021 harvest to frost, but they were able to buy organic Chardonnay and Gamay from friends to make this rather vivacious sparkling wine Le Feu et La Glace (Fire and Ice). The wine shows a lovely bright pink color and fresh aromas of cherry and raspberry fruit, blood orange and spice. The palate is fresh and bright with a firm bead an sappy red currant and cherry fruit over the refreshing acidity. Quite delicious and perfect for a party, especially with charcuterie and cheeses. "Light scents of ripe strawberry and a hint of rose water come through with time, very discreet in style. The palate is nicely balanced with a little more roundness than expected, offering brisk acidity and a pure red cherry, bready finish. Fine." (Neal Martin in Vinous)
