Larmandier-Bernier NV Latitude Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs (Base '21)

Formerly known as "Tradition," Latitude comes from vines in the south of the Côte des Blancs. The chalk is deepest here of all the areas where the family has vines, with one meter of topsoil before hitting solid chalk. Typically Latitude comprises of 2/3 wine from the base vintage, and 1/3 from a perpetual reserve, that goes back to 2004 (they were certified organic in 2003). With the 2021 base, they had to use closer to 45% of their Reserve, which we don't mind at all! The wine is fresh and chiseled, with cut and acidity expected from the 2021 vintage, but with a long and elegant finish framed by the signature chalkiness. 3g/l dosage.
