Heresztyn-Mazzini 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Goulots

From a 0.38 hectare plot of 1er Cru Goulots. This 1er Cru is in the north-western corner of Gevrey neighboring 1er Cru Combe Aux Moines, and not far from the famed Clos Saint Jacques. The soil has a thin layer of white marl resting on limestone bedrock. The wine is made with 50% whole cluster fermentation. Aged in 35% new oak for 16-18 months. I allowed this to sit in the glass on my desk for a few hours and it opened up so beautifully with ripened red cherry, tart cranberry and a perfumed spice note. It has lovely soft floral notes. This will age really beautifully for 10+ years!
