Viret, Philippe 2024 Coudee D'Or Blanc (arrives mid-June)

A lovely example of Rhone Valley white wine, with subtle acidity, a touch of florals on the nose, stoniness on the mid-palate, medium-weight and a clean finish. 2024 was the last vintage that Philippe Viret participated in, before passing in the very beginning of 2025. 

From the Rosenthal Wine Merchants website: "“La Coudée d’Or” combines a panoply of better- and lesser-known white Rhône varieties such as Clairette, Bourboulenc, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier, and various ancient obscurities (Viret has over 100 varieties planted on the property). Grapes begin fermentation on their skins and are pulled off after a few days and pressed, and the wine ages for two years in well-used oak barrels."
