The Champs de l'Abbaye "Les Amourettes" is a lovely Chardonnay from limestone terroir in Aluze, next to Mercurey. Notes of ripe yellow apple and pear waft from the glass, with aromas of toasted almond and candied angelica. Juicy tropical fruit and lemon confit on the round palate. Medium to full bodied, it would lend itself to fuller white meat, fish dishes and cream sauces such as blanquette de veau, monkfish a l'oseille and roasted pork belly.
