Jobard, Claudie 2023 Bourgogne Rouge Cuvee Milliane

Claudie Jobard, whose vines are primarily in Rully, inherited four hectares of excellent parcels in and around Beaune and Pommard from her family's estate (Gabriel Billard) with a very high percentage of old vines. Certified organic farming with only natural composts used, with minimal treatments in the vines and regular light tilling ("griffage") and wild-yeast fermentations. The 2023 Cuvee Milliane "Vieilles Vignes" is from old vines around Pommard. Approachable upon opening with  elegant aromas of tart cherry and black fruits with hints of licorice and dried flowers, along with peppery spices, plums, fresh herbaceousness and zesty acidity combining to make quite a festive pinot.
