Vini Rabasco 2022 Colline Pescaresi Damigiana Rosato

This is another stunner of a rosato, made of 100% Montepulciano from San Desiderio vineyard, a hillside vineyard close to the sea that has never been treated with chemicals. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo spontaneous fermentation in open vats before aging in 54 liter glass demijohns (damigiana) before being bottle unfined, unfiltered and with no addition of sulfur. There's an array of savory, herbal spices on the nose along with some pretty cherry fruit. On the palate the red fruit quality really shines, with beautiful texture and precise acidity that doesn't feel sharp but adds some tension. This is a dynamic wine that evolves in the glass, already showing layers of complexity but in store for even further development in the bottle if you choose to put some away.
